What Steve Jobs Thinks About Sex?

Podcast Alley

Podcast Alley is another major podcast aggregator who seems to specialize on staying on top of what iTunes is missing. It’s a market that shouldn’t really exist (of course – these guys have been into podcasting longer than iTunes and playing second fiddle wasn’t their initial game-plan).

Is Apple seeking to limit the amount of ‘porn’ it promotes? It’s clearly not selecting shows on the basis of copyright violation (Adam Curry plays ‘mash-ups’ on ‘The Daily Source Code’ all the time), if they’re using content as a guide – Podnography’s tamer than a lot of stuff out there and if they're using interest levels - Podnography has more subscribers than many of the shows in their listings. So why the delay?

Whatever the reason, a lot of sexy podcasts are missing from iTunes’s line-up, but the good sex shows they include (like SoccerGirl and Open Source Sex) are incredibly popular. Are Apple reluctant to provide too much of what people want? I shall investigate further…

Meanwhile – if you like the sexy stuff, and don’t want to wait for iTunes to find things for you, Podcast Alley’s a good place to look. Podnography’s page is here. (You can vote for the show and leave comments there too).
